Golden Moon by Avyukt Ohri
This painting works like a collage of color. Blocks of crimson, black, white and turquoise are layered across the canvas, some smooth and some scraped, giving the surface a patchwork quality. A large golden disc sits near the upper right, glowing like a moon or a sun that has drifted in from another picture.
Scattered across the blocks are tiny white flowers with golden centers, small and delicate against the heavy shapes. They add a note of tenderness and surprise, and invite the viewer to look closely.
The balance between bold geometry and small, gentle details is what makes the piece special. It reads as an abstract dreamscape where a night garden and a city wall have merged into one.
