Freedom and Peace by Avyukt Ohri
Five white doves rise across a canvas of dense vertical brushwork in forest, emerald and lime green. On the left the greens are dark and tightly packed, like a thicket or a sheltering canopy. Moving right, the strokes loosen and dissolve into translucent aqua and soft white, as if the air itself is opening up.
The doves are the only pure white in the composition, and each is caught at a different angle of flight. The eye follows them from the shadowed greens toward the light. Visible tool marks and scraped layers give the surface texture and depth. The painting speaks of release, hope and the move from enclosure into open sky.
