Color Currents by Avyukt Ohri
Diagonal swathes of green, orange, yellow, blue and white cross a soft grey ground in this lively abstract. The strokes loop, twist and overlap like vines, streams or ribbons caught in a current, creating a sense of constant flow from one corner to the other.
The grey ground acts like a calm stage, letting the colors stand out without clashing. Where the strokes cross, they blend slightly, producing new shades and a feeling of depth. Fine lines and dabs add small points of interest across the surface.
The painting is energetic yet balanced, a good example of the artist’s instinct for rhythm and color. It could be read as a river seen from above, a tangle of garden growth or simply the joy of moving paint.
